Agricultural Development

The life style and status of poor, landless and marginal families within the working area of AJKS-F heavily dependent on the agricultural livelihood, because, they all belong to the farmers family

About This Project

The life style and status of poor, landless and marginal families within the working area of AJKS-F heavily dependent on the agricultural livelihood, because, they all belong to the farmers family. Their food, education, health and living status are subjected to the earning from the agriculture. So, improvement of life status of target families is mostly related to the development of the agriculture. Because the whole AJKS-F cultivation process is ancient and production rate is very low. The areas of agriculture like fisheries, poultry and livestock farming are also in a poor condition.

Farmers in our country often face severe financial crises. They need to arrange money in advance to cultivate crops. Many farmers fall victim to local moneylenders, who lend them money at high interest rates, trapping them in debt for years. As a result, farmers remain poor despite their hard work. To break this cycle of exploitation, the AJKS Foundation has stepped forward. The organization provides interest-free loans to poor farmers so they can buy seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs. Farmers repay the loan after harvesting their crops, without any additional burden of interest. Such initiatives inspire hope among farmers and are helping the country progress toward self-sufficiency in food production.

Objective

1. Improve the overall life status of poor, landless, and marginal families within the working area of AJKS-F, who are heavily dependent on agricultural livelihoods. 2. Develop the agricultural sector in the working area, as the improvement of target families' food, education, health, and living conditions is directly linked to agricultural development. 3. Modernize the ancient cultivation process and increase the low production rate of agriculture in the AJKS-F working area. 4. Improve the condition of allied agricultural sectors — fisheries, poultry, and livestock farming — which are currently in poor condition. 5. Provide interest-free loans to poor farmers so they can purchase seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs without falling into the debt trap of local moneylenders. 6. Break the cycle of exploitation by local moneylenders who charge high interest rates and trap farmers in long-term debt. 7. Enable farmers to repay loans after harvesting their crops without any additional burden of interest.

Goal

1. Achieve self-sufficiency in food production for the country by supporting poor farmers through interest-free agricultural loans. 2. Inspire hope among farmers and motivate them to continue farming despite financial hardships. 3. Reduce poverty among farmer families by ensuring they receive fair returns from their hard work without exploitation. 4. Ensure food security, education, health, and better living standards for poor, landless, and marginal farmer families. 5. Prevent farmers from becoming victims of local moneylenders and free them from years of debt bondage. 6. Promote sustainable agricultural development — including crops, fisheries, poultry, and livestock — in the AJKS-F working area. 7. Contribute to the nation's progress toward food self-sufficiency and rural economic development.
