The AJKS Foundation is committed to creating a just and inclusive society where every individual-regardless of gender, disability, poverty, or social background can exercise their fundamental rights and live with dignity. Despite progress, marginalized and disadvantaged communities in Northern Bangladesh continue to face systemic barriers to education, healthcare, livelihood opportunities, and participation in governance. This initiative seeks to back up and strengthen AJKS Foundation’s mission by providing a comprehensive approach to rights advocacy, empowerment, and inclusion.
Rationale
Social Exclusion: Marginalized groups, including women, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities, remain excluded from mainstream development.
Economic Inequality: Limited livelihood opportunities perpetuate poverty cycles.
Lack of Awareness: Many disadvantaged people are unaware of their legal rights and entitlements.
Weak Representation: Marginalized voices are often absent in policy and community decision-making forums.
Addressing these challenges is essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
